Founded in 1886 by the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids, Aquinas' total enrollment is now approximately 2,600. The campus of the liberal arts college encompasses 104 wooded acres on the edge of downtown Grand Rapids. Aquinas offers more than 40 majors in 13 degree programs. The college recently completed construction of the $7 million Performing Arts Center that is home to Aquinas’ theatre program as well as Community Circle Theatre and theatre groups from the Catholic Secondary Schools.

Located about 10 miles west of Grand Rapids, GVSU's main campus is situated on a 1000+ acre campus featuring 200 total programs and 68 undergraduate majors. Total enrollment for Fall 2003 is over 21,000. Grand Valley recently expanded to downtown Grand Rapids with the DeVos Campus, Secchia Hall and Keller Engineering Laboratories Building, which opened in the Fall of 2000. In 2003, the $57 million Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences opened.
